LIM June Hee se graduó en la Universidad Yonsei en Seúl y recibió su doctorado en la Universidad de Indiana en Bloomington, USA, estudiando composición con In Yong La, Frederic Fox, y John Eaton.

Sus obras han sido presentadas en Seoul Music Festival (1993), Mid-West Composer's Symposium en USA (1996), Asian Composer's League Festival en Taiwan (1998), 46th International Rostrum of Composers en París (1999) etc.

En 1998 ganó el gran premio del V Concurso de Composición Ahn Eaktai con su obra"Altaic Ritual" que fuera luego presentada en '99 ISCM World Music Days en Rumania.

En la actualidad enseña en la Universidad Yonsei y es secretaria general de Korean Society of Women Composers y miembro del comité de ISCM (Int. Society for Contemporary Music), Seccional Corea, y también miembro de Asian Composer's League.
